Appointments

Most psychotherapy sessions are scheduled for either 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Telephone consultations are available at the regular hourly or half-hourly fee. House calls may be arranged for clients unable to attend office visits. Psychological testing typically requires 1 1/2 to 3 hours. We request that you make every effort to keep scheduled appointments.

Cancellation of Appointments

If you find it necessary to cancel a scheduled appointment, we require a twenty-four (24) hour notice in advance to avoid charges. Usual time charges will apply if insufficient notice is given of cancellation.

Payment

Payment is required at each visit.

The following questions can be a helpful guide when talking to your insurance or manage care company.

  1. Am I covered for outpatient psychotherapy?
  2. If so, what is my deductible?
  3. What is the amount my insurance will pay per session?
  4. What is the maximum my insurance will pay per year?
  5. For some insurance policies, payment is a percentage of the fee. If this is your policy, what is the percentage paid?
  6. Is there a maximum number of hours per visit?
  7. Is there a maximum number of visits allowed per week?
  8. Is there a maximum number of visits per year?
  9. Is there a major medical backup? How much? You will need to check this with either your personnel department or directly with your major medical insurance carrier.
Release of Confidential Information

All sessions are confidential. However, the counselors at Holistic Psychology Associates function as a team. Although your sessions are confidential, be aware that your situation may be discussed at "Team Meetings" to provide you with our best care. If this is unacceptable please let us know. You must give us permission, if we are to share information outside of Holistic Psychology Associates.

Confidential information will only be released after the client or Legal Guardian signs the appropriate "Release of Information" form, except in cases where the Client is in danger to self or others, or when Client records are legally subpoenaed.

Emergency Service

Through our beeper and answering service we always have a staff member available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
